Special announcement: There is still time until February 10th to offer precious items for the Guru Rinpoche statue base! The cavity in the base contains a beautifully carved cedar box that will hold the crystals, minerals, herbs, jewelry, sand etc. that is arriving almost daily from many parts of the world-and there is room for still more! Precious and semi-precious stones are definitely still needed. Longtrul Rinpoche recently found precious stones that were clean and polished at Micheal’s Craft Supplies, for example and he spent $200 of his own money acquiring some. If a highly realized being such as he is inspired to acquire merit in this way, how much more important is it for us? Longtrul Rinpoche recently explained that the benefits of bringing offerings for the base will be such that a strong karmic connection for ourselves and others, lasting through time will be made. By offering such things as medicinal herbs (nothing poisonous),and dried flowers, stones, coins from around the world, jewelry, crystals etc. we will create conditions for health and well being that will avert epidemic diseases and wars in the future. These offerings will increase spiritual awareness and riches and bring about karmic connections for future abundance and harmony. Another simple offering that Rinpoche recommends is that of mixed dried beans or brown rice-they are pure and clean and will not require more cleansing than the blessings that the Lamas will put on them when they are put into the base.

Also, stones are greatly needed. All of us have special places that we might collect stones to bring to place in the statue. Look for the ones that seem special to you from that beach or river that you visit for healing and peace. Rinpoche recommends that the stones be washed in pure plain water before offering. (no soap).

This window of opportunity is open now. This is a light shining in your life. You have the chance to participate in something that will have lasting benefits. How many people have this kind of opportunity in a lifetime? There are many that long for an opportunity like this to acquire merit. This is open to Buddhists and non Buddhists alike so be sure to let friends and family know. Offerings may be dropped off at the temple any time or arrangements can be made for pick up by e-maiing info@kathokcentre.ca l. On February 10th the Lamas will begin the ceremonies to place the objects in the statue base. You are welcome to attend and contribute your energy to the work bee that will also be happening at that time.

May all beings benefit!
