Kathok Gonpa - Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre in Qualicum BC
About Us
The Kathok Buddhist Meditation Centre (Kathok Centre) is a simple Buddhist temple established through the compassion of His Eminence, Lingtrul Rinpoche to benefit Western students. The temple is a three story structure including meditation hall, Lamas' residence, and Lingtrul Rinpoche's personal residence. Several exterior features are traditional with Tibetan gonpas and signify that this is a place where Dharma is practiced. Kathok Centre belongs to the Nyingma tradition. We work under the guidance of our teachers to bring the wisdom and blessings of the tradition to all. Our main practice is Dzog Pa Chen Po, Longchen Nying Thig, according to the Great Master, Khenpo Münsel Rinpoche. We have many practices including Green Tara, Pho'wa, the Heart Sutra, and 100 Session Mind Training. The feast offerings of Guru Rinpoche and the Queen of Great Bliss are also part of our tradition. These practices are in complete accord with the practices at the main monastery in Golok Tibet.
